Bono's at it again. This time he's launching Product Red: "a global brand which will raise funds to fight AIDS in Africa."
This is a blatant mix of commerce and development - the "sell out" factor is so up-front it's not even in question. The line has been not only crossed, it has been erased - and I'm hoping this turns out to be a groundbreaking thing, a new way of looking where economic models (or the lack therof) cease to stand in the way of real justice being realized. I'm excited about the possibility that "doing good, will turn out to be doing good business."
