Introducing: Houselessness

In response to my unfinished thoughts on homelessness, James Shelley has wonderfully added to the conversation by making some distinctions and bringing up the idea of "houselessness." I'm not sure if he coined the word or not, but it's the first time I've heard it and I like it...

Make sure you read the comments here.

i first heard the word "houseless" from my friend Thea Prescod (on staff with Sanctuary in Toronto) ... she explained it to me first in the context of community: just because someone is living on the street does not mean they do not have a "home" or a "family" (perhaps this is the conjecture of us with roofs who think that buildings are synonymous with relationships?). Anyway, it definitely got me thinking the first time i heard it too.
