Friday's Triple-Shot for Dec 14

December 14th seems close enough to the big day to start adding a few holiday-inspired music to the without further adieu.

Over The Rhine - Goodbye Charles
This salute to Charles Shulz borrows heavily (and beautifully) from Vince Guarldi.

Pedro the Lion - I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
The jingle bells in the background and the playful piano with it's hints of Rudolph/Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas all clash beautifully with David Bazan's tired vocals; essentially creating a song that resides as much in despair as it does in hope. And that's a beautiful tension.

Coldplay - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Classic song. Classic performance. Sometimes a good song is best left as it has always been.

The Night KITT Saved Christmas - Knight Rider
I could only listen to this for about 2 minutes....but it's a riot.
