If you don't have something nice to say...

Maybe I just read too many blogs by persnickety people, but I'm beginning to get very tired of the fact that there's seemingly no end in the ways of which we dwell on how much the Church sucks these days.

I get it, people do dumb things for God - very often the exact opposite of what Jesus was getting at while he was here a few thousand years ago.

But come on people, is a whiner really that much more bearable than a hypocrite?!

Realizing that this post is a perfect example of what I'm railing against I hereby call for less finger pointing and more high fives.

The next time you're about to point out the huckster "selling" Jesus™ why not spend the energy spreading the news about the other dude you know who's actually making a positive difference in this world.

End rant.
High Five.

I think the other challenge is that we try so hard to disassociate ourselves from the "huckster selling Jesus" that we lose some of our own spirituality and we become afraid of talking of Jesus at all. OR we have become so interested in "de-lamifying" religion that even in our own circles we don't know how to talk about spirituality with each other for fear of coming across as lame.

High fives indeed!!
